Reviews and Testimonials

Oxford Treatment Center - Inpatient

PROS: Hank, Barry, Sonja, Sonja 2, Laura, Scott, Stephanie, Jason, Matt, Megan, Mark, Clara, Anna, Hanna, Yolanda, Morgan, Brandy, Peyton, Sergeant Major Sam, Creeper Angela, Vicki, and Yolanda. You are a collective soul that cares about your people, so don't let the dog food bring your score down! I thank God for you. When you see me there next year, just know that I'm cheating the system and just coming back for you/"preventative maintenance". Hopefully, the food will be better but the love will be the same. I love y'all so much. I can't wait to see Hank's award winning smile again next year. CONS: Consistent horrible food /Consistent horrid smells from the cafeteria; whether the smells be caused from heath code violations or the overabundance of chemicals used to cover up the sitting, rotting grease on the southeast slab of the cafeteria's exterior slab (busted used grease containers) being "covered up" by means chemicals utilized in the interior of the facility. Yes, look behind that building. Nevertheless, it is both heath code and environmental violations. The food provided was literally microwaved burritos and canned vegetables on many nights. To receive a decent meal was a rarity. The kitchen staff was impressively slow, and all they had to do was throw slop on a plate. The ice and coffee machines were frequently out. Also, the IGLOO cooler containing the drinking water was frequently out during meal time and before meetings, making patients late. Also, the splash plate on the milk dispenser needs to be cleaned daily. That's the besmirch Oxford Treatment Center receives when they subcontract their food service to an ill-managed provider. Regardless of the food, I was taught the fundamentals of my disease (Hank), self-assessment (Barry), and coping skills (The Entire Team). Even the severely underpaid TA's (Technical Assistants being paid $14 an hour "up to $18") dealt with so much and were cautious and considerate to the patients' well being and needs. I cried heavily while Ralph was taking me to my truck leaving Oxford Treatment Center after completion of the program, as Ralph can testify, because I did not want to leave (even though the food was garbage). Thank you. You are forever In my heart. -Jason S.

Initially I had so much trouble paying attention but once I got my meds adjusted properly I started to retain all of this important information on how to stay clean post discharge. I really loved Thursday night H&I and my process group the most.

My first class was the hijacked brain with Mr Hank and I knew then I was in the right place because for the very first time I realized that I have a brain illness and not a moral dilemma. OTH has given me more hope about my present and future.

I wanted to leave everyday for about a week and something finally clicked that I was in the place where my God wanted me to be. Since then I've grown so much in sobriety and now help others daily who struggled like me. Love OTC.

When I look at my entire treatment I realize that oxford gave me new tools to cope with daily living that I never had before. Now I can say that my recovery is the most important thing in my life because without it I will never have anything.
