Veteran Programs

  • Veterans program: Battalion Program – A 4-week curriculum tailored towards veterans & first responders that focuses on PTSD, the neurobiology of addiction, and learning to rebuild and/or expand resources to improve daily life coping without the need of substance use. Programs and treatments may include:

Confidentiality

Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Records

The confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patient records maintained by us is protected by Federal law and regulations. Generally, we may not say to a person outside the treatment center that you are a patient of the treatment center, or disclose any information identifying you as an alcohol or drug abuser unless:

  1. You consent in writing (as discussed below in “Authorization to Use or Disclose PHI”);
  2. The disclosure is allowed by a court order (as discussed below in “Uses and Disclosures”); or
  3. The disclosure is made to medical personnel in a medical emergency or to qualified personnel for research, audit, or program evaluation (as discussed below in “Uses and Disclosures”).

Violation of the Federal law and regulations by the treatment center is a crime. Suspected violations may be reported to appropriate authorities in accordance with Federal regulations.

Federal law and regulations do not protect any information about a crime committed by you either at the treatment center or against any person who works for the treatment center or about any threat to commit such a crime (as discussed below in “Uses and Disclosures”).

Federal laws and regulations do not protect any information about suspected child abuse or neglect from being reported under State law to appropriate State or local authorities (as discussed below in “Uses and Disclosures”).

VA Community Care Partner

Sunrise House Treatment Center is a VA Community Care Partner, meaning that we work 1-on-1 with veterans assigned by the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Local VA to provide the most effective and customized treatment possible to those who serve (or served) our country. The benefit here is that we work closely with the VA as a referral partner and can get you the treatment you need when you need it.

Tour & Family Visits

Contact us to schedule a tour of the facility. Families are encouraged to visit during approved hours every other Wednesday.

Sunrise House is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

As a CARF-accredited rehabilitation program, we can be counted on to provide the gold standard of patient care. New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies

We are a proud member of the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies (NJAMHAA), an organization who promotes the best quality treatment providers of behavioral health services in the state. Per the NJAMHAA website, the organization “is comprised of the leading mental healthcare and substance use treatment providers who treat New Jersey residents with mental illness, addictions or co-occurring disorders, as well as the families of these individuals.” The organization acts as an advocate for individuals who are struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders who “have no voice of their own.” NJAMHAA works to be an advocate and push for legislative changes that allow for access to quality treatment for those who need it.

When You’re Here

Arrival

Upon arrival you will check in and meet with your care team and undergo evaluations and assessments in order to guide your treatment program.

Meals

Meals will be served in a dining hall at set times, up to 3 times a day by an on-site chef. Let our staff know if you have any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate your needs.

Housing Details

Men and women reside on separate floors, and rooms for patients in detox are located separately from the rooms for patients in the residential treatment program. Most rooms house two patients, although there are a few single rooms.

Free Time

In their free time, patients can exercise in the fitness center, partake in holistic treatment activities such as Yoga, or just enjoy the scenery around the facility. There are also TVs, table tennis, and depending on the season, a variety of outdoor activities.

Technology

Because connectivity is important, you are permitted to bring electronics such as a cellphone or laptop computer. You will only be able to use them during certain times, and use will depend on your level of treatment.

Smoking is allowed in designated smoking areas. Call the treatment center to learn more.
