About The Rally Point: AAC

The Rally Point: AAC is our specialized treatment track for Veterans. At AAC, we know that military service can leave deep emotional wounds, leading some to turn toward substance use to cope.

Our program empowers Vets to leverage their unique stories, backgrounds, and intrinsic resilience to heal from the trauma they have experienced and find their way forward.

Who We Serve

The Rally Point: AAC program is open to Veterans of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and other co-occurring mental health disorders, such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and more.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 17 Veterans die by suicide every single day. Our specialized drug and alcohol treatment program hopes to decrease this statistic by offering a lifeline to Veterans in need.

At AAC, participants can find strength in numbers through intimate group discussions with other Veterans just like them. These open conversations help our Vets realize they’re not alone and build connections that last long after treatment ends.*

*Note: Programming is subject to availability and may vary. On occasion, participants might be integrated with our general treatment groups, depending on the number of Veterans enrolled in treatment at a given time.

Program Details

Our customized, evidence-based curriculum helps Veterans learn to identify and eventually change the underlying thoughts and behaviors that drive addiction, especially those linked to their military service.

Employing a “mission-focused” approach, The Rally Point: AAC combines the principles of strength-based therapy and positive psychology to help Veterans address mental health challenges, substance use issues, and the transition into civilian life.

Discussion topics and other programming may include:

  • Stress management.
  • Understanding and managing depression and anxiety.
  • Anger management.
  • Emotion regulation.
  • Suicide prevention.
  • PTSD Treatment (i.e., “trauma-informed care,” including a comprehensive trauma assessment and individualized treatment plan).
  • Understanding the disease of addiction.
  • Experiential services (e.g., yoga, meditation, and music or other art therapies).
  • Discharge planning.

Comprehensive addiction treatment is just the first step in the recovery process. That’s why we make sure our Veterans have the tools and support needed to sustain long-term recovery. This includes sober housing, transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, mental health resources, and access to local AA/NA meetings.

Extra Support for Families

At AAC, we understand that addiction affects more than just the person battling substance use—it impacts those around them as well.

Our Veterans treatment track includes additional support for family members, with discussions on:

  • Boundaries and co-dependency.
  • Addiction as a disease.
  • Relapse prevention.
